The 17th FEBS Young Scientists' Forum

For many years, FEBS has funded a Young Scientists' Forum (YSF) immediately preceding its annual Congress to promote interactions between pre- and post-doctoral scientists from the FEBS area. Organized by local young scientists for young scientists, the event provides the selected PhD students and postdocs with opportunities to present their work, exchange ideas and develop contacts with their peers, before moving on together to the larger FEBS Congress. The 17th FEBS YSF, organized in conjunction with the 42nd FEBS Congress, will be held at the Ramat Rachel Resort, Jerusalem, from September 7th to 10th, 2017.

IUBMB–FEBS Conference: New Horizons in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Education

This Education Conference will take place in the Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel from September 5th to 8th, 2017, just before the 42nd FEBS Congress.

The International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB) and FEBS are seeking to provide a think-tank setting in which to draw up ideas to improve the current approach to teaching these subjects, and to generate a series of recommendations to be shared with the educational community.

The programme of the conference consists of plenary lectures, mini-symposia, workshops, and poster sessions, covering significant topics on biochemistry and molecular biology education, from the level of primary and secondary school, going through BSc, MSc, PhD and post doctoral levels.
